The story of Villa Frida

Villa Frida has been a part of our lives since 2002.  The search was on for a 2nd home in France, a long-held dream of mine since spending time there at the age of 19 as part of my French studies.  This however was our family’s first visit to the Var and we all fell in love with it.  Back then, the house looked a little different, but we all had the same heart felt response as we arrived - this house was The One!  As we got out of the car and rounded the corner of the house, the first view of the pool was and still is, such a delight.

This happened on a beautiful August day and afterwards, we drove up to the hill top village of Gassin for lunch, as we had glimpsed it from the house.  That was our first experience of the this beautiful village with its terrace of delightful restaurants that have amazing views over the Gulf of St Tropez.  There was a calmness and serenity to this shady terrace that reinforced those first impressions  and the decision to buy the house was made there and then.  The rest as the story goes, is history.

It has been quite a journey from then to now but Villa Frida has been there as a constant throughout changes in our lives.  Our family’s aim is to make the house a beautiful place for guests to stay.  It is such an important  part of the experience to stay in a home that uplifts, enchants, delights and surprises, and we hope that a visit to Villa Frida will have a small part in your cherished holiday memories.
